Is It Just Me?

Sometimes the brain likes to say, "You're weird. You're the only one going through this, and you're wrong for feeling this way."

Then, you have a conversation with a friend who says, "Omg, I've been experiencing the same thing!" Suddenly, that feeling of aloneness or weirdness quiets down.

Through my journey and working with my clients, I’ve come to realize: Oooh, this is a universal thing. We’re not just individuals navigating separate storms—we often are parallel in this cosmic journey.

I had the incredible honor of being the tarot reader for an event in South Lake Tahoe last week, where my table stayed booked all night. The energy in the air felt palpable, like something bigger was moving through all of us.

The theme of the night? Major Arcana cards. In tarot, these cards represent significant life events and shifts—big changes that impact our paths in deep ways. The major themes kept coming through: Death, Lovers, Tower, Devil—you name it.

These cards signify major life changes. Looking into the eyes of each recipient, you could sense that change was blowing for every one of them. In a strange way, that felt incredibly comforting—because it wasn’t just one person going through it, it was all of us. And that is where true connection lies: in understanding that we’re not isolated in our struggles, but linked through our experiences.

We often get trapped in our heads, asking, "Why? Why is this happening to me? I must be the only one. I’m bad, I’m wrong, I’m failing." Then we take a step back and realize it’s not just an "us" thing—it’s a "we" thing. This time of year reminds us of that collective bond. The Autumn Equinox marks a sacred shift, not just in the seasons but in ourselves. Just as the Earth transitions, we too are transitioning—into darker days, into new chapters of our lives.

Collectively, we are moving through this time of great transformation. The Equinox is here to remind us that we are in rhythm with nature. The leaves fall, the nights grow longer, and we are invited to release and reflect. The struggles we face are not just personal—they are universal. The survival mode we slip into sometimes tells us we are alone, but the truth is, we’re navigating this together, as one.

As someone who grew up thinking "I can do this alone," I've seen for myself and my clients just how revolutionary being seen and working with others is. Even if it's just one person you trust, coming together has been proven to reduce shame.

We are bound together by this shared experience, facing the unavoidable transitions as one collective force. Know that you are not wrong—you are human, and you are not alone.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or stuck, you’re not alone. I am here to help you navigate these moments of uncertainty with love, clarity, and a sense of connection. Together, we can work through the shifts you’re experiencing and find the strength to move forward.

Let's embrace this season of transformation, together.
